Ametrine is a beautiful combination of amethyst and citrine and retains the crystal energy of both.

Occurring when amethyst and citrine form within the same crystal, ametrine receives calming, cleansing power from amethyst, and a sunny creativity from its citrine content. This combination makes it a great tool for relieving tension and removing fear. Because of the spirituality of amethyst, it is also good for spiritual fulfilment and meditation.

Ametrine is primarily mined from the Anahi Mine in Boliva. Legend has it that ametrine first came to Europe after the Spanish conquistador Don Felipe was given the Anahi Mine as a dowry when he married Princess Anakha of the Aureiros tribe. When he returned to Spain he presented the queen with ametrine crystals which soon became loved for their fluid colour combinations.
