Polished Madagascan Ammonite 25cm

Vibrant with rich colour and fascinating detail, this ammonite fossil is beautifully preserved. The leafy patterns make this a highly unusual specimen, perhaps caused by seaweed being fossilised alongside the shell, leaving their gorgeous shapes on the surface of the ammonite's shell.

Living 135 - 395 million years ago, ammonites swam freely in the world's oceans and leave wonderful fossils. This large ammonite fossil makes a stylish and fascinating ornament and a gorgeous way to bring the wonder of natural history into your home.
