Kinoite is a very rare mineral, always found as micro-size crystals in only a handful of locations. Nearly all the most significant specimens come from the Christmas mine, Gila County, Arizona, U.S.A.

This specimen is from a small batch collected around 60 years ago. The crystals are tiny, coating the matrix as a druze, with a subsequent overgrowth of blocky apophyllite crystals.

A magnifying lens or preferably a binocular microscope is required to best appreciate these tiny crystals. An excellent specimen for the macro/micro photography enthusiast.
