Goshenite encourages neutrality and the ability to stand back from conflict and challenge, so we may understand the true nature of that conflict and grow from the experience. Like aquamarine, it inspires us to “speak our truth” from a position of strength and integrity, and without anger.
As with other beryls, Goshenite calms and balances the autonomic nervous system, and can be worn in times of stress to help calm, and control panic attacks and stress-related illness. According to Melody, it can be used to open and activate the Crown Chakra.
Small, well-formed crystals from Erongo Mountain, Namibia have recently become available. In addition to the general properties of goshenite, Namibian goshenite is a powerful balancer and energy clearer, but using it in this way is an advanced technique, and is recommended for experienced practitioners only, preferably for use on themselves. Begin by centring yourself and filling your body with light, then sit in meditation while holding the crystal. The goshenite will then use that energy for its work, starting first with the areas or Chakras most in need of assistance, continuing by making minor adjustments as other areas respond. This can take as long as a full treatment, so be prepared, and be clear that you want only as much healing as is right for you at that time – otherwise, the goshenite will continue until it has done its job, which can potentially lead to a healing “crisis” if you are not ready for that depth of work. If you are not experienced, Namibian goshenite is still suitable to use as you would other goshenite.
