Origin of Name & Mythology: Anhydrite was named in 1804 by Abraham Gottlieb Werner from the Greek άνυδρος ("anhydros") meaning "without water", in allusion to the lack of water in its composition, in contrast to Gypsum, which contains water.

It stimulates flow, and clarifies at a cellular level, purifying body and mind, and improves thought process as well as helping to end unhealthy thought patterns.
Physically, Anhydrite can strengthen skeletal structure, teeth, and cell walls, and improve blood clotting, as well as calming and enhancing function of the lower digestive tract (intestines), possibly through the process of general calming and clearing.
