Origin of Name & Mythology: Named in 1845 by Wilhelm Karl von Haidinger from the Latin "cuprum," in allusion to its composition. Haidinger renamed a previously known mineral that had been known by a wide variety of names.
Cuprite has a strong Heaven/Earth connection, and is a supreme balancer on all levels, which includes balancing male/female energy, the hemispheres of the brain, and even the Heavenly with the Earthly chakras, thereby creating equality between higher and earthly energies within the body, with the Heart at the centre.
It restores vitality, and leaves the user with a clear mind and heart, and a sense of physical presence. Cuprite’s energy is much lighter than other copper minerals, but it still works well as a mild anti-inflammatory.
