In a similar way to clear petalite, datolite opens, activates and balances all chakras, with particular focus on the Throat and Third Eye. It is very lively, and far less calming than petalite, so initially feels somewhat uncomfortable to work with, and will also draw attention to areas of the body that are less than healthy (such as exacerbating the tickly throat sensation from asthma), but eventually leaves the user feeling alert, clear-headed, and able to make decisions or see the way forward. It also gives the sensation of “standing tall”, and being able to face dilemmas and problems with poise and self-belief. Melody suggests it can be used to instil an understanding of the transience of life, presumably reminding us that “this too shall pass” – that life moves on, and nothing is permanent.
