Chakra Meditation

This is also a good Chakra-balancing exercise.

Approach your meditation in the way that is most comfortable for you.

(If you're not used to meditating, either sit cross-legged on the floor or in a chair with your legs uncrossed and your feet flat. Your spine should be straight but relaxed. "Ground" yourself by imagining roots extending from your feet down into the earth beneath you, anchoring you there. Breathe slowly and deeply into your lower abdomen. As you start to relax and your breath begins to change, let go of any cares or discomfort you may be feeling and bring your attention from the crown of your head down through the centre of your body to the area of your Navel Chakra.)

Place your crystals in front of you, at eye level if possible, and in order of the Chakras. You can either place them left to right or with the Root Chakra crystal nearest you and the Crown Chakra crystal the farthest away.

Begin with a red crystal, such as garnet, or black or grey crystal, such as smoky quartz or hematite at your Root Chakra. Imagine the colour of the crystal radiating towards you and entering your body at the point of its corresponding Chakra. Allow the colour to infuse your entire body (don't forget your legs and arms!). Sit with it as long as it feels comfortable, then gently end the connection with the crystal. Repeat this with each of the crystals.

At the Crown Chakra, usually using clear quartz, allow a clear white light to enter the top of your head and permeate your entire body. When you are ready, be sure to disconnect from the Clear Quartz! Otherwise you may find yourself quite light-headed

To close, go back through each Chakra, starting with the Crown, and imagine dimming the light. Alternatively, simply bring your attention back to your Navel Chakra area. Then draw in your roots while continuing to feel your connection with the earth beneath you and the weight of your body. When you feel ready, bring your attention back into the room. Be sure to move about, stretch, even stamp your feet, to make certain you're back!

If it feels right to you, say "thank you" to the crystals and to whatever you hold sacred and divine for giving you this experience.
