Origin of Name & Mythology: From the Latin 'fluere', meaning flow, due to the ease of melting when used as a flux in smelting and refining of metals.
Recently acquired from a mineral enthusiast that has spent many years researching and collecting minerals from an isolated location in the USA. Blue Sky Fluorite is a very important addition to the crystal healing world.
Intriguingly, the specimens can be quite different in appearance, more or less sky blue, very occasionally occurring as pale violet or even purple. Rarely, both colours occur on the same specimen. This phenomenon is highly regarded, as it can strengthen the Heart Centre and enhance the connection with the Upper Chakras and the Spiritual Realm.
When feeling confused, depressed, or overwhelmed, Blue Sky Fluorite clears away the clouds and facilitates inner expansion, bringing clarity, lightness, a fresh outlook, and optimism. It can clear the Throat Chakra, whether the issues are physical, emotional or spiritual, as well as supporting the Heart, both emotionally and physically. The focus of Blue Sky Fluorite's energy is around the head, throat and heart. Importantly, there is no sense of feeling ungrounded when using it. That, combined with 'lightness', as if the physical body has no weight, makes it a superb mineral for Ascension and transformational work.
Occasionally, specimens exhibit a quartz 'frosting' of certain Blue Sky crystal faces. The presence of quartz amplifies the healing properties of any crystal, and quartz frosting, in particular, is also associated with nature spirits and the Fairy Realm.
Also, some of the specimens are associated with limonite, sometimes coating a few of the fluorite crystal faces or more typically residing around the base of individual Blue Sky crystals. The high iron content of the limonite aids grounding, and is particularly useful to those working with the higher energies, as it strengthens our connection with the earth.
Most importantly, some individual crystal cubes of Blue Sky Fluorite exhibit internal zoning. These are particularly sought after, as they can create a multi-dimensional aspect to the crystal's energy.
