From the world famous location in Castleton, Derbyshire, England, this renowned variety of fluorite is known as Blue John Fluorite.
Characteristised by a mixture of cream and dark purple colour, some specimens show one or both colours, and occasionally these are seen as alternating bands of colour. In old times, the most beautiful material was carved into a variety of objects such as goblets, vases and bowls.
In general, purple Fluorite opens us to our psychic gifts, as well as relaxing the mind when we have been overworking or overthinking, but can be ungrounding. Blue John Fluorite however is more earthbound. It works its way through the physical body, cleansing, balancing and relaxing as it goes.
