A superb example of a large Stony Meteorite from Morocco. These are the most common meteorites found on Earth accounting for approximately 85% of all recovered Meteorites.
They are generally composed of 75-90% silicon-based minerals with 10-25% nickel-iron alloy. These Meteorites have never undergone melting and their composition is very primitive, they were formed by the aggregation of grit and dust particles present in the early solar system entering the Earths atmosphere at anything between 25,000 and 160,000 MPH.
These meteorites make wonderful gifts for anyone interested in space and geology.
