Tanzanite, the mauve variety of the mineral Zoisite, is found in the famous Merelani Hills area of Tanzania.
Individual crystals are highly prized by collectors and crystal healers. They are beautiful, but rare and expensive.
This small crystal is a high quality natural specimen, not heat-treated to produce the mauve colour, as most commercial Tanzanite tends to be.
Tanzanite is said to be lively and cheerful, helping to lift depression and support one through difficult times.
