These Small Black Ammonite Fossils (~20mm) make great little gifts and are between 195 and 395 million years old. These ammonites once swam freely in the oceans and were squid-like creatures. These fossils are their beautifully preserved shells, a fascinating gift from an ancient world.

They are also  great for school fossil projects and for older children interested in nature as they are inexpensive and a great way to tell them about the history of our planet.

Cephalopods were marine, highly mobile swimmers, generally carnivorous. They achieved buoyancy by using chambers connected by a siphuncle to exchange pressure of gas thus adjusting density.
