Libethenite is an attractive mineral usually forming drusy crusts of short prismatic crystals with wedge-shaped terminations.
This specimen is from a batch collected around 25 years ago from the Miguel Vacas Mine, Alentejo, Portugal. The crystals are olive green in colour, extremely bright and lustrous.
A magnifying lens or preferably a binocular microscope is required to best appreciate these small crystals. An excellent specimen for the macro/micro photography enthusiast.
